Could It Be?

Just a little update. For the past few days I have been feeling stomach cramps off and on. They really hurt and sometimes I have to pause a little bit and wait for the pain to move on. Not only that but I have been really tired and nauseaus (What's new, right?). Are these symptoms? I will know in about 2 weeks and then you will know.

Ease Labor: Kneeling Bird Dog

Kneeling Bird Dog
Provided by BabyFit.com

Are you ready for labor? Are we ever? Whether your due date is 2 days or 2 months away, you're sure to be thinking about the unknowns. The good news is that you can ease labor by strengthening your core muscles and doing some other simple exercises. Here's a no-impact, core-building move that you can do all the way up to the big day.

1. Kneel on your hands and knees with hands squarely under your shoulders and knees evenly and comfortably beneath your hips.
2. Raise left arm and right leg off the floor, extending them evenly to the height of your shoulder and hip.
3. Lower your arm and leg back to the starting position rounding your back like a cat.
4. Repeat alternating sides for 1-2 sets of 10-15 reps for each side.

Special Instructions: Try not to tense up and stay relaxed as possible. Exhale when reaching the starting position and try to bring your navel into your core, forming a straight line with your body before rounding your back. Inhale before and during the lifting phase of the exercise.

Walking for Baby

http://babyfit.sparkpeople.com/articles.asp?id=54

I thought this was a really neat article from Baby Fit. While in spark I joined a group that champions walking as an exercise. What I like about it is you can use it as a family activity and its nice to talk while you take a walk.

On Our Own

Today Stan & I sat down with our doctor to discuss the weekends events. Dr. Osheroff was not happy about what the other doctors had come up with (ie starting me on a cycle) so he decided that I needed to stop the meds immediately. He wanted me to go back on birth control to see if we could get the cyst to subside Then I brought up how I was surprised that my monitor always shows each month that I have been ovulating and there was a cyst there. Then he was floored to discover that Ihave been going through a real cycle for the past few months with highs and lows. Baically this means that I am no longer a candidate for the infertility treatment so he has decided that for the next few months (6-8 as long as my cycles are consistant) we are going to try on our own so if no baby by the fall we will do another IUI. I will keep you posted on the cycle!

Details to Follow...

Scheduled an Appointment with Dr. Osheroff at Shady Grove Fertility for today at 2 pm. It is a real possibilty that he wont let me do the cycle...but let us pray!

Saturday February 9, 2008: Day 3 Test

Saturday February 9, 2008: Day 3 Test

Found a 4.8 cm. cyst so the lady doing the ultrasound talked to Dr. Timmereck as to whether I should start my cycle. She said no to take a break for this month.

Then I get a call around 6 telling me to start my cycle. I filled the nurse in on what had happened earlier in the morning and the nurse called Dr. Timmereck to make sure. Aparently because the cyst has been consistant they have decided I can do the cycle regardless.
I was going to wait until March but I can't ignore a sign like this so I filled the clomid prescription and I am going to call Dr. Osheroff tomorrow to make triple sure that this is a good idea. I will keep you posted!!

Spark Article: Getting Ready to Eat for Two

http://www.sparkpeople.com/resource/Nutrition_articles.asp?id=141&page=1

Opening Score

Stan & I have been trying to concieve for a little over a year now. Last year I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and in April 2007 I lost my left ovary to an overgrown cyst. After I had my ovary removed I went to Shady Grove fertility to create a plan of action. Our doctor has been great; he gave me a treatment plan that includes the medication, Metformin. I get monitored once a month for cysts and up until recently it always came back as me having a large cyst and being unable to continue with the cycle. After several months of taking birth control to minimize the cysts and seeing no progress I decided to talk to my nutritionist about the Chinese herbs she often prescribes. I started on Bupleurum in October and by November was cyst free. I was able to do the cycle in November but was unsuccessful. I decided to take a break to refresh myself and lose some extra weight. I have been ovulating on my own for the past couple of months. I stopped taking the metformin and have been working on a weight loss plan. I should reach my goal by the end of this month and be ready to try another IUI. SO I have created this site in hopes of recording my thoughts during this whole process. I also really want to post articles/new findings that I discover which would be of interest

All about our family (when I remember to post it)
