Yesterday, I took my lunch in my office with the lights out and my feet up. As I was laying there I noticed everytime he kicked you could see it through my clothes. So last night I decided to have Stan take a look to see if he could watch the baby move. Sure enough you could see him moving around in there through my belly. I was so happy since up until now the baby has been a "mama-only" experience. It's so fun to see!!
We still have a ways to go but I am in my 7th month and feeling the pressure to get everything done. I still can't believe that the baby will be here and I will be able to finally see what he looks like. I am really starting to get excited, yes there are still the pre-birth jitters but I figure I have classes in October and November which should take care of that.
This week my personal baby goal is to start rounding up the stuff for my hospital bag. It might be nice to just get everything together before I lose the energy to shop (is there such a thing?). I have found lists online that I can use to help me figure out what to take but they have stuff on there that I can't imagine needing.
Calling All Seasoned Mommies: (you know the drill) Is there anything you recommend taking to the hospital with you? Anything that is better left behind? Just in case I have to have a C section is there something that would be better to take than if I end up doing it naturally? And of course any additional "words of wisdom" are totally welcome!

I wish I had got a belly band because the pull of my belly really hurt my incision. I don't know if you have seen them but they are sort of like a bra for your belly to give it a little extra support.
With Sarah I had read that it's nice to take toiletries and makeup and I thought that sounded a little to 1950's. But after I had Julia I took a shower and washed my face and put some make up on after and I felt so much better. Especially since so many people come to visit. I also did my nails before I went to the hospital, I know this sounds funny but it makes a world of difference. I didn't have time for much else with the girls because we had to really make sure they ate on time and in between those times I slept. Also if you can it's really good to walk around in the hospital, the first time I didn't do it as much but the second time I did it every chance I could get. It's great because you heal faster and they let you out sooner because they see that you are feeling good. I don't really like hospitals so the sooner the better.
For after the hospital it'll be good if you can have one of the Grandmas' or anyone to help you out once in a while. If only to take a nap for an hour. Because sleep becomes like gold. At least if your baby is anything like mine were. Hope this helps mamma.
I just thought of something else. It's really good to bring a nursing night gown. I had a really cozy one with a robe that went over it. I think my mom got it from Walmart. It's also good to use the Lansinoh cream, they should even give you a sample of it. It's really funny because I went to the drug store and asked if they had linoleum cream. Typical right:)? So those are really great for comfort and nursing. As far as walking I forgot to add that it's really great to use the babies cart with the baby in it of course for support. It also seemed to help sooth them. Alright I'm done for now:).
