This weekend was really fun and very active! On Saturday we all met at my Grandma Peggy's house (my mom, my dad, my Pop-Pop, my Grandma Peggy, Stan, and I) to go down to Mount Vernon in Virginia. It was wonderful and I think everyone really enjoyed themselves. We toured the mansion and then walked to the Old & New tomb. The tomb was clear on the otherside of the property though so it was quite a walk in the hot sun. After we did the whole big tour we went to the Mount Vernon resterant and dine like kings & queens. Everything my dad ate he would say " you know these are George Washington's tomatos grown right here or George Washington's Cherries." It was really funny. I got this yummy peppered ham sandwich. They gave me this huge ice cream pie! Stan ate well too, he got a pulled pork sandwich (with was made from George Washington's pigs) and some Mount Vernon Peanut Soup. After we flled our gullet's we decided to head back to my Grandma's house. It was great.
On Sunday we drove down to Bethesda with John, Maggie, and Baby William. We met Stan's mom, dad, Aunt Millie, Aida, and Aimee at Strike for a fierce competition Men vs. Women in bowling! Of course the ladies were victorious- we were not going to cut them a break just because it was their holiday. Aida was strike city!! She did great. In the 9th fram Millie tore it up and got a very nice spare. Betty & Maggie got a strike in the 9th frame-so you know we were burning those lanes up. Us, ladies meant business! Although I do think that William should get MVP since he pushed that Big ol ball all the way down there and pulled out a great score. It was so cute watching him up there bowling. I tried to take some pictures but my camera made them all blurry since it was really dark in there.
After bowling we went to Maggianos for a family feast. It was so good. This time we got the Beef canneloni and I ate that up. It was so yummy!!
Stan got a lot of Father's Day gifts yesterday too. Sugar and Baby M got him a cute chocolate chip cookie card and with the help of Wibby & boo-boo they had it all signed and decorated for Stan when he woke up in the morning. Then Stan's mom got him these super cute baby books about a daddy bear and a baby bear which I know Stan will love reading as bedtime stories when the time comes. She also got him this precious Willow Tree Statue called "new Dad" where this father is holding his new infant. Stan's almost there and I have to say he can't wait until he can hold his little baby bundle. I love how excited he is! He also got 2 really cute onesies one said "Charm curtosy of Daddy" and the other said "The apple of Daddy's eye" They were so cute and I can't wait to see the baby in them.
It was a very full weekend all about Daddy's and I know that although Stan didn't feel too much like a daddy yet he really loved everything!
